A Brief Introduction of Serviceable LED Aluminium Flashlight

A flashlight,   the more common term is torch or electric torch,  is a portable electric spotlight which emits light from a small incandescent lightbulb,  or from one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The light source is mounted in a housing which contains a parabolic reflector,  a clear protective lens,  a power source (typically electric batteries),  and an electric power switch.

LED Aluminium Flashlight is one type of serviceable flashlight. These flashlights made with a solid aircraft aluminum case, can stand up to the roughest abuse. The LED's light is captured by a textured reflector which produces a very smooth spot with a wide spill beam.compact and lightweight construction is also perfect put in all kinds of packs .A pocket clip is attached to the side of the light and a clickie switch is on the Aluminium body.

Flashlights which use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of conventional lightbulbs have become available. LEDs have existed for decades,  mainly as low-power indicator lights. LED flashlights with power and running time better than some incandescent lights. The first Luxeon LED flashlight was the Arc LS in 2001.

LEDs can be significantly more efficient at lower power levels and so use less battery energy than ordinary lightbulbs. resulting in a longer battery life,  in some cases hundreds of hours,  although the LED efficiency advantage diminishes at higher power levels. LEDs also survive sharp blows that often break conventional lightbulbs.

LED flashlights are often electronically regulated to maintain constant light output as the batteries fade. By contrast a non-regulated flashlight becomes progressively dimmer,  sometimes spending much of the total running time below 50 percent brightness level.

A common misconception about LED-based flashlights is that they generate no heat. While lower-power LED flashlights generate little heat,  more powerful LED lights do generate significant amounts of heat – although not as radiant energy,  as the semiconductor junction inherently dissipates heat. For this reason higher-powered LED flashlights usually have aluminum bodies and can become quite warm during use. The use of aluminum is largely due to its thermal properties,  acting as a heatsink for the high-power LED. Very few high-output LED flashlights use a plastic body due to plastic's being a thermal insulator rather than a conductor. In order to adjust to requirements this light has two levels of output, usually use a aluminum body.Very few high-output LED flashlights use a plastic body due to plastic's being a thermal insulator rather than a conductor. In order to adjust to requirements this light has two levels of output, usually use a aluminum body.

The aluminum bodies are fairly durable and although subject to deformation from sharp impacts,  they can usually take a beating. Most aluminum lights come in a standard flashlight cylindrical shape since the shape is the easiest to make when machining aluminum. When looking at an aluminum light consider the finish. There are 3 primary types of finish on the market today. 'Powder coated' is considered the weakest finish. This type of coating is paint that is bonded to the metal with heat. It will protect the metal from corrosion,  but it can also scrape off. The next strongest finish is anodize type 2. This is what you will find on a common Mag light. The finish is actually the result of an electro-chemical process that forms a layer of oxidization on the surface of the metal,  which is then chemically colored. The process can produce a wide variety of metallic finish colors. Anodize will wear off and ding,  but it holds up pretty well to general and some rough use. Anodize type 3 is the hardest finish available for aluminum. Like anodize type 2 it is actually the result of an electrochemical process but is very,  very hard. Type 3 will take a very serious beating and will often wear away other metals before it takes damage. Powder coating and anodize type 2 finishes are good for most folks and tasks. If your light will be subject to a lot of bangs/dings/friction,  consider a type 3 anodize finish. Some Surefire and all Arc brand flashlights use type 3 anodize.

Luckily, care for this kind of aluminium led flashlights is actually rather simple. For the lens and body,  just use a mild cleaner and a damp cloth to clean it. Don't use harsh abrasives,  especially on the lens. Polycarbonate lenses will scratch easily.
