Laser Diode Modules are intended for the laser system original equipment manufacturer (OEM) offering a laser product to the public. These modules as sold are not FDA compliant. The manufacturer must add these compliances in his finished product to be legal for public sale in the USA. Some manufactures of modules have output power ratings of 2.5-5 milliwatts (CLASS 3A) and from 5 to 120 milliwatts (CLASS 3B). Some types of laser diode modules in common use are introduced below.
Green Laser Modules
green laser module from 1 to 20mW, designed for use in industrial alignment, medical and scientific applications. They are self-contained and consists of an anodised metal housing, laser diode, drive circuit and collimating lens.Green lasers with 532nm wavelength are available in terms of green laser module and green laser system to satisfy different demands.
Red Laser Diode Modules
Laser diode modules make cost effective solutions for many laser alignment, measurement, automation, scientific, security, OEM, and industrial applications involving batch processing and positioning. When used as alignment lasers, modules can save valuable time and increase accuracy and efficiency of production activities.
Infrared Laser Module
Infrared Laser Module is made especially for infrared night vision system and far distance infrared illumination source. It applies to infrared video camera or black and white CCD video camera or micro-optical night vision system for night vision or for 24 hours electronic surveillance. The illumined distance is from several meters to miles. It also can make special laser as customer requirements, such as wavelength, power, fan angle, power supply mode, operating condition and size, etc, so as to reach the best surveillance effect in any case.
Application: night vision; night illumination of black and white CCD video camera; collimating.
Characteristic: low power consumptive, high output power; working on far distance; small body.
Infra-Red Laser Modules
High power invisible 30 milliwatt infrared laser at 980 nanometers operates on 3 volts (two AA batteries). This module is a Class 3B device and requires protective eyewear when viewing the beam or any potential direct reflections or scatter. Intended for experimental use in window bounce systems, target designation, optical x-rays, IR holography and general optical research. The module may be temporarily powered with just a 3 volt battery pack. Module measures diameter and includes an adjustable collimating lens. Laser Diode Pumped Modules
Laser diode pumped module is a long-lifetime two-part module (laser head and power supply, both included) that can produce up to 150 milliwatts of continuous 532 nm green laser with narrow divergence. Applications include use for collimation, laser medical treatment, scientific experimentation, optical instrumentation, etc. Includes thermoelectric cooler for continuous operation.
